We had an incredible stay at Mabel’s — such a special place to unwind. The wood fire made the evenings so cosy, and the sauna was a real highlight. The outdoor bath overlooking the water is also a beautiful feature and adds to the whole experience We also brought in Marefold Private Catering for a 12-course dining experience, and it completely elevated the stay. The home was the perfect setting — intimate, relaxed, and still really refined. It felt like a private dining experience you’d never get anywhere else. We’d absolutely come back.
We couldn't have had a better time
We stayed at Mabel’s Lookout for a social and training weekend, and it was the perfect venue. The cooking facilities are top-tier—we had a private chef come in on Saturday night, and the kitchen handled everything beautifully. There is so much space for everyone to gather without feeling crowded. Between the views of Apollo Bay and the amazing outdoor setup, we couldn't have had a better time.

Easy to switch off
From the moment we arrived, the place felt like somewhere you could instantly relax and settle into. We spent the afternoon taking in the view over the bay, watching the light change as the day rolled on, before easing into the sauna which quickly became a highlight of the whole stay! Evenings at Mabel's Lookout involved good conversations, fabulous food, a few laughs, and that calm feeling you only really get when you’re away with friends and not in a rush to be anywhere. By the time we crawled into bed, the sheets were soft, the bed was incredibly comfortable, and everything felt quiet and restful. It’s one of those places that makes it easy to switch off and just enjoy where you are. We left feeling refreshed, already talking about when we could come back.
Picturframe Perfection
We recently stayed at Mabel's Lookout with a group of friends, and it exceeded every expectation. We arrived in the dark, so we weren't sure what the view would be like. Waking up the next morning and experiencing the pictureframe perfection that stood in front of us was simply breathtaking. What sets this place apart is the attention to detail. The kitchen is a dream for anyone who loves to cook, and we made the most of it. On top of that was the top quality coffee machine which got our mornings off to the best start. After a day of exploring the island, retreating to the sauna and the outdoor shower was the ultimate way to relax and finished our evening in front of the cosy woodfire. It felt incredibly private and luxurious. If you’re looking for a spot to switch off and enjoy the best of Bruny Island, this is it. We’re already planning the return trip.
Gorgeous Stay
We had an incredible stay at Mabel’s Lookout with our two kids and large Groodle. We felt so relaxed with a spacious living area and being able to enjoy a sauna and outdoor shower after long walks along the beach at Apollo Bay. The location was very private with amazing views of the wildlife including several wallabies and an occasional echidna and quoll.
